Can't agree more that you really need to evaluate the "Relead" opportunity and be willing to say no if all the four key indicators Dr Chasteen recommends don't line up. We use similar opportunities in the business world when we are purchasing a business. Number 5 to me is "No Team". None of us can do this on our own. Team is important. It is critical to evaluate IF the current staff will follow your new leadership joyfully or major staff changes need to be made. If major staff changes need to be made do you know or have people in mind to fill those spots. If "no team" and no replacements then no deal.
Thanks, Matt, for the thought-provoking question. And Dr. Chasteen, thank you for doing an excellent job answering it. I think those four points are sufficient. If I were to add a fifth one, it would be "No Added Value." This point may not matter much for some organizations. However, it is important to evaluate the potential outcome of your leadership. You can view this point as an analysis of the total cost. If you estimate that your leadership will not take the company to the next level and will be a zero-sum game, it's better to say no. Be honest with yourself.
I agree 1000% with every single point. Each point made me want to scream into my phone as I rasd it, YES!! EXACTLY!!!
Over the last few weeks, Father God is doing a deeper work in me, in areas that pertain to much of the ReLeader content. Therefore, I am sitting with this article in combination with many of past articles and podcasts as if they were still simmering in the crockpot.
Even just this morning, Father God is showing me some areas that He needs to place in the fire to burn away and purify. Life is certainly a journey, if we are humble enough to receive it, is it not?
Thank you, Dr. Chasteen. His still, small voice is always right.
I listen via YouTube and enjoy learning and applying the nuggets I learn to my releadling journey. I too "fix broke stuff".
Thank you for all you do.

Solid point on the teams! That would be a great 5th thing to consider! Thanks for adding it to the conversation

Love that Jean. No add value. Fantastic 5th point!
