Reminds me of Joseph’s journey. We know that victory will eventually be ours, but the waiting can be so heavy at times. I think the key to it all (or one of them) is to work diligently at what is set in front of you. The preparation in the work currently in front of you is what is being used to grow you…physically and spiritually. My thought is to embrace the waiting process and try to remind myself daily of what faith brings about in God’s perfect timing, which is ultimately the “win”.
Awesome topic to share on and timely. The waiting period draws me closer to our Abba Daddy and strengthens my trust muscle (that’s a good thing 😉). The one thing I struggle with right now is the state of our nation. I believe & trust God is working in the details but it’s difficult to watch the deterioration and division that’s taking place in our nation/world…. But God. 🙏🏼
I know there is nothing new under the Son and would love it if you would teach on this topic on Sundays. I’m in the book of Jeremiah and am seeing similarities.
Btw… I much prefer this style of your sharing. Thank you for taking the risk. It looks like others are liking it too.
Thanks Jon, you gave me some great sermon material! I appreciate your wise humility in keeping this format simple and sustainable, keep up the good work!
Jon thanks for the raw, short, message this morning. We are on day 109 of releading a Christian Retreat and Conference Center and have asked the when question more than once...
I love hearing your thoughts this way! It’s like having a cup of coffee with my pastor. When God when??? I think there are a lot of us that are secure in the belief that He will cause us to win but struggle with the when.
My husband and I have known we’re called to help build Kingdom marriages for more than a decade. Because we own a business, we also knew that we wouldn’t be making things happen, it’s all on God. We think we have learned our lesson about “making things happen” vs watching God make things happen. One works, the other does not.
As we’ve been walking in the waiting we can see the work in us He’s done to get us more and more prepared. Hubby said something many years ago and God has helped me agree with, he said “take the lowest seat at the table, being grateful to be at the table, until it’s impossible to stay there”. That aligns with the scripture that talk about a guest sitting in the seat of honor and having to move bc it wasn’t their seat. We’re watching things start to bear fruit in every area of our lives and I’m thinking the “when” is just around the corner now. Sitting in the waiting is hard but it’s where God does some of His best work.
Great thoughts, Pastor! Loved the passage of scripture you quoted, it fits perfectly.
I think we all have to go through seasons of waiting for Father God to teach us and develop in us the character growth and maturity that is needed for the next phase of our calling.
I need to lean into the lessons He has for me in the season of waiting and learn them well. In the end, I want Father God to give me an A+ on my final exam.
More recently, Father God used several different perspectives to teach me a few things.
#1) Rabbi (Jason Sorbel) has a video on YouTube titled "Don't Lose Faith" that had some interesting perspectives of the life of Joseph. It really opened my eyes to some key things I needed to learn.
#2) After pondering on that, the Holy Spirit led my mind to meditate upon Matthew 6.
#3) Your phenomenal sermon this past Sunday discussed the topic of sacrifice.
All this tied into the subject of: when I am placed in a circumstance of "suffering for Christ" or "sacrificing for the cause of Christ" do I have the character growth to "suffer well?"
Those things you brought out from Psalm 13::5-6, I think determine the answer to that, doesn't it?
Am I capable of keeping a focus of believing Father God loves me, no matter what my circumstances say.
Do I chose to TRUST in His Omniscience and His Omnipresence? He always has my best in mind.
Do I chose, no matter the situation, to focus on building joy by counting my blessings (which will change my perspective to align closer with that of Father God's.
Am I willing to climb up on the "Potter's Wheel" and surrender to the very work He wants to do in me?
Just a few thoughts on the subject of "faith in the waiting".......
I like the squeaky chair - it proves it’s organic!
A question I’ve been asking for well over a decade now. Win-when? I’ve discovered God’s wins for me are not the financial or personal “goals” or types of breakthroughs I’m trying to score in my temporal game. I’ve come to realize His most important wins or goals/scores for me are won or lost within my heart. The game I’m too focused on winning has to do too much with my personal life as I measure it. Jesus is cheering me on in His goals for my heart as I patiently endure what motivates me to accomplish what He considers the most valuable win-creating His likeness in me.

Great word Brian. Do what we can do, and God will step in and do what we cannot do.
100%!!

Oh Pastor Jon this is (can I say awesome? )😂 I love the rawness of this not polished but full of Truth..
The question of When ?? Oh my golly gosh what a lesson to develop the patience in the waiting, it’s amazing how the body reacts to waiting…
Sadly I am not a professional in this field !!!
But I do feel that as one waits for “The When” well character is forged in the furnace of his testing..
(Trying to build a metallurgical theme here ) 😃
Thinking of Jeremiah I have made you a fortified city an Iron Pillar and Bronze wall..?)
Love this keep going!!
Lord Bless you ..
I am not a professional here either! Thanks for the feedback. It means alot.
Thanks Jon, you gave me some great sermon material! I appreciate your wise humility in keeping this format simple and sustainable, keep up the good work!
I got you bro! Ha!

Good word Chandra. The good thing about waiting in God, is when he does move, He moves…ALL OF A SUDDEN!!
Needed this today. Bless you Pastor.
