So good my brother! God is raising up a generation of men and women that are ok being Isaac’s. So much is written about Abraham and Jacob but Isaac has very little written about him. Yet when it is all said and done the “God dream” doesn’t reach generationally without those that are willing to be faithful to calling instead of faithful because of what the calling does to them.
Love the comment of keeping the smell of sheep on you. So many leaders inside and outside the church seem afraid or just refuse to be humble and present with those they lead. Getting to know your sheep, live life with them, listen, comfort, and just be present is such a powerful message in itself. It's not about being visible for being popular or famous but being real as that's what people need. Thanks for sharing this message.
Hi Jon, great post, so much enjoyed our short stay at your fellowship last year, this message speak deep into my role at a large insurance company in Norwich UK... I am far happier in myself when I am saying I will serve the Lord rather than trying to fathom out how to make the boss happy as he/she tries to make their boss happy.... I have a small team that I try to practice Godly servant leadership...
Never really thought about the way that Pastors measure themselves, but you are so right. I feel that you lose so much connection in those mega churches and they cause so many hurts to people. But in the same even the smallest of churches can cause even deeper hurts. I'm excited to learn how to change the focus for not just me but for the group that I lead.
Thanks for reading Dorinda. I can certainly be a challenge. We need to pray for pastors and leaders that we all focus on the why more than the what. Lord help us all stay grounded.

Thankful for this and excited for the journey!
Thanks for reading my man!

Thanks Brad. Are you are pastor? Sounds like you have the heart of a shepherd...that's for sure.
That has always been my heart and do pastor people in the business world.
Smell like sheep .. Amen
