ReLeading can feel like that many times Robert. Praying for you as you await take off. Don't forget Zechariah 4:10, Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin...
For some reason, God gets more excited to see the work begin than to see it finished.
Thank you again for this encouraging word. It’s so funny how the Lord works. I’ve expressed so often lately how I feel like I’m piloting a large aircraft ( although I pastor a small church) that’s simply sitting on the runway, waiting for the tower to give us permission to take off. Yet, we just sit there idling, feeling like I’ve done all I can. So, thank you again for this timely word. Now, I just continue to ask the Lord “what and when”. Blessings
When your in the rebuilding process, remember even though you may not see what is going on there is always something going on! It’s hard during a rebuilding to sit and wait, but it’s also a necessary part of the journey. We as leaders, need to learn what works, who works, and how it all works. So many times in organizations, we find that no one wants to learn another job because they don’t want to learn or do that job. But, I like to learn all aspects of the way things work and run because I like to know how my job effects everyone else and their job!! Same with leading in other areas of my life, I love to watch and learn, quietly in the background. When it’s my time, it’s my time.
Usually, during that time of waiting God has always walked me thru a process because I would have not been ready for what he wanted to take me too!! Rebuilding is a way to refer to being so broken down that you have no choice to trust totally and completely on God. Sometimes he needs to burn it down to build it up stronger than it was!! Sometimes in the waiting, he is building something so big that we just need more time to build it!! Don’t get discouraged the process is going slow for a reason and only God knows that reason!!
Thank you, Jon! Such a powerful visual for the concept of rebuilding in the air. Rebuilding is exactly the term I used a few weeks ago when Neil asked our administrative council where we think we are in one word. We are not starting from scratch. Our church just celebrated 100 years of ministry, and we've been there for 20 of those years, but sometimes it feels like one of our engines is stalled and we can't seem to to fix it or keep it fixed. We will never be a jumbo or even a mid-size passenger plane. We are much more like a light passenger jet or a small engine plane. What we often deal with is broken people and mentalities and we're constantly working to fix them. Just when it looks like we've got everything put back together, another part breaks and we're back to square one, if you know what I mean? Praying for God to give us the right tools and parts to rebuild with what we have and who He's given us. ❤️
that's amazing Christy. Thanks so much for reading! You are doing REAL ministry. The size of the plane makes no different in God's eyes! In fact, I would say that what you are doing is more difficult than a big plane, and it matters just as much as any plane. Love you guys and I'm so proud of the work you guys are doing! I pray this ReLeader content (and the future content to come), is a blessing in your journey of ReBuilding and ReLeading.
Thank you so much for your encouragement, Jon. It means a lot. We have already been extremely blessed by the content and look forward to all that God will do in and through you and this ministry to help ReLeaders. Many blessings over you and your sweet family, too ❤️
Dear Jesus, I pray that You will pour out Your Love and encouragement into Your people in this church. Provide them with Your tools to help strengthen them. Take each of them into Your loving arms and allow the light and warmth of Your Presence to melt away anything that is not of You. Place Your angels around them to protect them from the arrows of the enemy, from discouragement, in the Precious Name of our Sweet, Sweet Jesus I ask this.
