“I feel the need—the need for speed.”

We’ve been together long enough that I can start getting vulnerable with you, right?

Since 2018 I have served as the President of The King’s University and the Lead Pastor of Victory Church. On June 30, 2023, I hung up my higher education hat and dove back full-on into Victory Church. For the entire 5 years of leading both, I’ve always known I was “pastor first, president second.” Not in a “work ethic” kind of way. If anything, it was my Victory Church team that paid the highest price for the last 5 years. I gave TKU all I had and never regretted a moment of it.

I knew there would come a day when the Lord would end my time at TKU, and I would go back 100% to Victory Church. There were days I looked forward to that and days I mourned the thought of losing TKU. It was a rollercoaster of emotion for 5 years.

That time has come and I have no doubt it was God’s timing and God’s doing. I am 1000% all in for this next season.

I’m a ReLeader. I’ve ReLed Victory Church, The King’s University, and even other people. But these last few months, God is showing me how to ReLead the toughest thing of all, me. To all my ReLeaders out there, let me just tell you. YOU are the hardest thing you will ever ReLead.

The “ReLeading of me” looks different for each of us. In my case, it was about downshifting from a frantic 180 mph pace of life to a more manageable 55 mph. The trick wasn't only in adjusting, but in fully embracing the new tempo.

I've learned some valuable lessons and even a specific word the Lord gave to me about this season I’m in. Now, I'm not one to air my full emotional laundry on the web for everyone to scrutinize. So, for those in my inner circle or those who want to be, keep reading. If this speaks to you and you're keen to go deeper, just subscribe to the next level below.
