You don’t create culture by what you say—you create it by what you allow.
You can preach excellence all day long, but if you let missed deadlines slide or gossip run unchecked, that becomes your culture.
Peter Drucker said it best: “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.”
Today, look around. What are you silently tolerating that’s shaping your team more than your vision statements?
Kill it or correct it. But don’t ignore it.
This is not only great advice for a ministry, but great advice for your family and for a business. People follow the example we "allow" within our organization. Just having a policy doesn't work if you don't enforce it and don't model it. Do what you say and have your walk match your talk. You only create a culture when day after day, you keep your teams behavior within the boundaries you have set as your vision.
